SAYS SLAM SEASON! Wow!!! Go Vista Nueva Poets!Congratulations to all of our SAYS Vista Nueva poets! Fabulous job, and nothing but praise from our school. Competing in the Grant HS Slam, March 16th 2012: Ian Richards, Kiyana Drakes, Sonny Heu and Sunshine Brown. Way to go Sunshine (you are our Sunshine, our only Sunshine...) advanced to the Semi-Finals at the Master Barber and Beauty Shop on March 23rd; way to go (AGAIN), Sunshine took her NewNew Swag to the SAYS final round at the Guild Theater on March 30th, 2012. With Vista Family in the house, Mrs. Klentos, Mrs. Lewis, Ian Richards, and Sunshine's family, we cheered her on through the first round to a strong finish. Sunshine did not make the SAYS Brave New Voices team for this year, but LOOK OUT next year Sacramento, 'cause NewNew's in the house and she can spit! We're already looking forward to the most powerful team in Sacramento for next year's SAYS season, so bring it! SAYS Consortium, May 17th 2012 at UC Davis! Again, excellent work all of our Vista poets, you speak the truth and rock our world. california caverns field trip!Students in Art, Earth Science and English had a wonderful Valentine's Day exploring the California Caverns in Calaveras County!
